Education Doesn't Create Jobs

Here's an interesting article by David Sirota: The Neoliberal Bait and Switch.

Among other things, he argues that the noise made by politicians regarding education is really just a smokescreen, a distraction from the real issues of corporate-driven economic policies. This makes a lot of sense to me.

  1. I agree. A lot of the conventional wisdom about the relationship between educational policy and our economy is made up of articles of faith that serve the self-interested purposes of the people speaking, rather than well thought-out conclusions based on empirical evidence.
