Grading Parents Again

Katie Allison Granju writes about yet another proposal to grade parents on Strollerderby.

(See also Grading for Learning.)

  1. That's right! If we blame the PARENTS when things go wrong, there is no way to substantiate when the schools are doing a crappy job.

This is a brilliant piece of work. Guess I can infer from this idea that blaming bad test scores and the like on socioeconomics or RACE is going out of vogue? Let's hope so.

  2. Don't count on it, Happy Elf Mom. Blaming will always be a popular strategy. It gives people an outlet for their pent-up hostility, and it's so much easier than actually solving the problem.

  3. Something tells me that FedUpMom will have report cards of her own for teachers and principals if this proposal is ever adopted. Bring it on!
