YD: "I've decided to be a vegetarian."
Me: "OK."
YD: "It's too bad I can't have Christmas."
Me: "No, that's being Jewish."
YD: "... oh ... right. Is [Older Daughter's friend] Jewish?
Me: "Yes, she's Jewish and also vegetarian."
