Reading the Signs

Younger Daughter's reading has improved to the point that she often reads signs when we're out and about. The other day I was about to step into an elevator when YD called out urgently: "Mom! Don't get in! The sign says 'Do not use elevator!'"

Me: "Read the next line."

YD: " ... in case of fire. Oh."

  1. That's a cute story :) I remember when I first read that warning that used to be on side mirrors in cars "objects in mirror are closer than they appear." I don't know how old I was, but I remember that my dad was so proud that I could read it and knew what it meant (he was driving).
